Conference Director
The Conference Director oversees Circle's Conference Department and its projects. He/she will report to our Director of Operations and be responsible for overseeing conference staff in all aspects of meeting planning, including management of multiple Federal conference-related projects and tasks; evaluating, updating, and maintaining department policies and procedures; ensuring project deliverables and materials meet established quality standards; monitoring staffing and workflow to yield on-time, within budget deliverables that meet expected client guidelines and corporate standards; leading proposal-related activities for the department, including RFP analysis, pricing, strategy development, and writing and editing; and building constructive and positive working relationships across all company departments.
Qualified candidates must have experience managing staff or a department; a minimum of 10 years experience with direct and successful management of Federal government conference and logistics contracts. Additionally, we will only consider candidates with a bachelor's degree, e.g., English, journalism, communications, marketing or related field though a master's degree is preferred. He/she must have a CMP certification. He/she must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills; the demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with people internally and externally; and a high comfort level with computer technology and its application to projects, presentations, and management (e.g., the Web, graphic design, multimedia, databases).
Bilingual Health Resource Specialist
The Bilingual Health Resource Specialist will respond in English and Spanish to inquires and requests for information and materials received by telephone, mail, e-mail, fax, the Web, and other media. The Bilingual Health Resource Specialist will respond verbally or prepare written responses and enter the request, contact data, and outcome into appropriate databases. This position will maintain and update project resource databases and materials as assigned; represent the project and promote project services at conferences and meetings; and perform other duties as assigned by project management.
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience in a customer service setting, preferably in a health-related field, excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish, proficiency with MS Office applications and using the Internet, a high level of comfort with computer technology (databases, printers, etc.), and the ability to provide exhibit support by traveling to local and national conferences or meetings as assigned.
Senior Health Resource Specialist
The Senior Health Resource Specialist will supervise and provide training, technical assistance, and resource support to heath resource specialists and other inquiry response staff. The Senior Health Resource Specialist will respond to complex requests for materials and information received by telephone, mail, e-mail, fax, the Web, and other media. He/she will search and use Web content, approved protocols, scripts, and standard responses to prepare written and verbal responses; enter request and contact data into appropriate inquiry tracking and ordering databases; and maintain and update resource database records and mailing lists. The Senior Health Resource Specialist also will lead and provide technical support for specific tasks or project assignments, coordinate or assist with staff scheduling and training, monitor and ensures quality of services, prepare and produce reports, and lead or assist with the promotion of services at conferences and meetings.
Qualified candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree (psychology, social sciences, or health-related is preferred) and 3 years of experience in a customer service setting, or 5 years of related experience; 1 year of experience supervising staff, tasks, or processes; the ability to travel to attend and provide exhibit support at local and national conferences; proficiency with MS Office applications and Internet searches; the ability to successfully multi-task and complete tasks independently; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Database Administrator
The Database Administrator will work with data owners and department managers to develop long-term strategic goals for production databases, and collaborate with applications developers on a wide variety of projects with short turnaround times. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to work productively with minimal oversight, as well as participate successfully in a team environment, and have an open-minded approach to problem solving and learning.
Qualified candidate must have a bachelor's of science degree in a computer relater field and at least 5 years relevant work experience; certifications in SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 MCITP, MCDBA, MCTS; working technical experience designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers; hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience; and knowledge of data privacy practices and laws, especially Federal government requirements.
IRB Research Assistant
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) Research Assistant will work on a project that will benefit the health and development of children across the nation over the next decade. This position will work on site at NIH in Rockville and will be responsible for creating and managing an up-to-date database to track current versions of agency forms, copyediting written communications and informed consent materials, posting memoranda to the project portal, and collating and formatting amendments for submission to the IRB administrative support staff.
Qualified candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience providing administrative support; or 6 years of experience providing administrative support. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and working experience with databases and Web-based applications is required. The ability to successfully multitask and complete tasks independently, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to copyedit and manage multiple projects and deadlines are required; previous IRB experience is a plus.
Senior Network and Technology Manager
The Senior Network and Technology Manager will manage and supervise the operation of the help desk, voice and data communications networks, and the local area network. He/she will be responsible for IT support, network planning and management, local and remote network hardware installations, help desk operation, data center security administration, and disaster recovery.
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science; 6 years of data communications experience, with 2 years as a network supervisor and/or administrator; 5 to 7 years of management experience; demonstrated skills in human relations; and strong oral and written communications skills. A graduate degree in computer science or telecommunications is preferred. United States citizenship is required.
Science and Technical Writer
The Science and Technical Writer will research, write, and update patient publications, including fact sheets and easy-to-read booklets, on topics relating to diabetes and digestive, kidney, and urologic diseases. Other duties will include attending national and local conferences as a representative of the project and providing written coverage of meetings for inclusion in e-newsletters and other publications.
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in health, science, health education, health communications, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills and competency with MS Office applications are required. The ability to understand and interpret scientific information and present it for a variety of audiences is a must. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of science writing experience, including experience writing e-newsletters, patient fact sheets, and easy-to-read materials. Experience writing for both consumer and professional audiences, proficiency with Plain Language writing principles, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks with varying deadlines are required. Writing samples are required prior to or during the first interview.
